What does the ECM-200 Do? When Connected to a
load (appliance), it displays the following information:
Cost: The incrementing cost of energy
being used!
Time: The amount of hours and minutes the
load has been monitored.
KWh: Amount of kilowatt-hours consumed.
KW: Instantaneous power (wattage).
Who uses the ECM-200: Any consumer interested
in reducing their electrical bill by locating energy guzzlers and
appliances requiring maintenance and repair. Utility companies
interested in providing their customers or members with a method
of determining the source of sudden increases in billing.
Apartment owners desiring to determine a tenants use of
electricity on a shared meter. Used by schools to demonstrate the
effects of efficiency and conservation. Companies and individuals
providing energy audits.
What can be monitored? Any 120V load which
plugs into a standard wall outlet. The two channel feature of the
ECM-200 allows you to monitor two such loads simultaneously. Any
240V split-phase load which draws 40A or less. Complete panel
circuits of up to 40A. The two channel feature allows two such
single phase circuits to be monitored simultaneously. Entire
120V/240V sub-panel, remote panels or tenant panels of 50A or
less.
Is it difficult to operate? Absolutely Not!
Once connected, you need only to press the "RATE" key
along with the "UP" or "DOWN" key until your
rate is displayed then press "RESET"... as simple as
setting the time of a digital clock! The ECM-200 now displays the
accumulated cost and time alternately. The KW and KWh values may
be obtained by pressing the corresponding key.
